10 memorable things about CH

List

The ever-present smell of fertiliser (I think it’s chicken manure).
Fast moving clouds hitting me in the face as they float past the watchtower at Gunung Brinchang’s summit.
Lazy afternoons – on my private veranda – breathing in clean cold crisp air and watching the trees sway in the distance.
Drunk british backpackers reeking of beer.
Being mistaken for a Japanese. I really must brush up my Japanese. I only know “Konichiwa”.
Daily rain.
Vegetarian curry lunch at Restaurant KS.
Being recognized as a regular on the Gunung Brinchang route. A couple of workers at the Sungai Palas Tea Estate urge me on everyday, when they start work at around 8am. Even the drivers of landrovers ferrying tourists signal to me when we meet.
Rustic and charming T-Cafe.
Land Rovers everywhere. These contraptions are robust but seemed to have been constructed from world war 2 junk.
